Designed by WJW Architects, The community will operate as a certified Supportive Living Facility (SLF) under the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, providing a high standard of care for residents who require assistance with two or more activities of daily living — such as cooking, bathing, and dressing.
Each of the 150 private apartments — a mix of one-bedroom and studio floor plans — will include a private bath, kitchenette, and dedicated sleeping and sitting areas. The design prioritizes resident independence and dignity while ensuring safety and access to the support services they need. Heritage Woods of Des Plaines continues Barron Development’s mission of creating quality, affordable housing and care options for Illinois seniors. This project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2027.
